King of Glory Church

King of Glory Church came out to Casa Hogar to see the projects and even help out a little bit.
Here they are helping us paint the fence now set up around the orphanage.

Levi, the missionary team director, giving instructions on their tasks for the day.

More painting.

Oscar, the head of the agriculture at Casa Hogar, showed them a little about planting.

They even were able to do some planting in the orphanage.

As a team they worked very hard and we are very thankful for their efforts.

This is our new tractor that members of their church helped to raise funds for.

More planting and gardening.

Here are some members of the church watching the Manualidades group in action.

The pastor and his wife talking about Manualidades.

Above all we appreciate their love.

As a team they came with the goal of loving us and the people within Casa Hogar, and they definitely did that. Thank you KOG!!!

Janine's Farewell

Janine came to the Choluteca church in November of 2008 to help out with Casa Hogar Vida and the other projects of the church.

Not only did she have an impact on the children and those within the projects of the church, she made an impact on everyone she came into contact with.

Her Joy kept us smiling, and her energy came in handy playing with the kids.

One of here favorite places was the clinic in Limon. She built a special bond with the children there and you could truly see that language is no barrier to love.

Thank you Janine for all of your hard work.

What a blessing it was for Janine's mother to share Janine's final week with her.

In Janine's final church service here her mother sang her a song and Janine said a few words to the congregation.

This is Pastor Geovany giving Janine a certificate congratulating her for a job well done.

Thank you Janine for all you did here. We love you and miss you. Your impact on the kids and the people here will not easily be forgotten!

Janine's baptism

In Janine's last week here, she made the very special decision to get baptized right here in Choluteca.

Her experience here, aided by the love of the Fawcett family helped to change her life.

Janine's mother Elaine was there for the special occasion as she read a few verses.

Here Janine is right before she is about to get wet.

This is Janine with Pastor Geovany and other members of the church right after she got baptized.

This photo and the several to follow represent the love, support and encouragement Janine received on her special day.

With all the seriousness of the day, these three could not leave without a little fun. What a day!

Elaine's Visit from England

Elaine came to visit us from England. It was a great blessing to have her here in Janine's last week. To see Elaine's joy and passion for the children and their health was amazing.

She brought joy and a smile everywhere she went.

Her experience as a nurse blessed many people. Here she is checking vital signs of the Family Ortez.

Here she is giving an important shot to a young girl who has some severe skin conditions.

Here she is in Limon hearing about the organization of the Clinic, the Day Care, the torilla factory, and Bakery.

In an amazing blessing to the church, Elaine was able to sing a song during her daughter janine's final service there.

Thank You Elaine for your visit and we hope to see you again soon.

HIV Education Program at South International School

A team of of college age students gathered at South International High School to educate the students about HIV-AIDS

The whole team pitched in as we worked hard to break stereotypes rooted deep within the culture.

The children of the school listening.

Students of the school participating in an activity.

More students watch and listen. It is always very special to be able to teach kids to think about others differently. We pray this education can change the thinking of the next generation.

Norma and Marcus Move in to their New home

Henry preparing the house for the third family to move into Casa Hogar
Henry has finished mopping and the house is officially ready for a family.

A missionary team from The Rock Church in Columbia, Missouri helps with the move.

Everyone pitches in to help.

Almost done, moving the last few things into the house.

Pastor John Drage smiles in approval as we prepare to hand over the keys.

Handing the keys over.

Norma and Marcus came from a very tough family backgrounds. They both come from broken homes and before moving to Casa Hogar they lived in a shed made of broken pieces of wood with a floor made of dirt. Without the help of the Great Commission Church in Choluteca and Casa Hogar these two would never have a chance to have a home of their own.

We close the ceremony in prayer, thanking God for the blessing of this new home and asking him to guard this family and care for them and their new life.

Joy can be found in the smallest of places.

The whole family as they stand in front of their new home, with new hope.
The manualidades group, that meets in the fourth home in Casa Hogar. This group makes handy crafts and seels them to help provide jobs for those infected or affected with HIV-AIDS. Casa Hogar now has three homes occupied, three new homes currently being built, one house beign used for Manalidades, and many more. The blessings keep rolling in.
